The Race for Quantum Computing: Who will achieve a strategic competitive advantage … China, Japan or the US? (Amazon audio & ebook)

Colleagues, according to the Future Forward: Exploring Tomorrow’s report entitled “China's Quantum Leap: The Internet Revolution of 2024” the PRC has taken a major step forward in the race for quantum supremacy. If this claim is valid the implications for technological transformation are enormous.

For a deeper dive on this matter read “The Race for Quantum Computing” (Audible) (Kindle) that clearly defines the global race for quantum computing among China, Japan and the United States. Moreover, it will identify the impact and consequences of winning this technological race … along with the strategic advantages that await the nation that wins this competition. These advantages include positive innovations in science, technology and finance. In addition, the outcome of this high stakes contest will have an immeasurable impact on military and intelligence gathering along with cybersecurity and encryption. Quantum computing is the next big technological frontier, and the race to build the first working quantum computer is heating up. A quantum computer is a type of computer that uses quantum bits, or qubits, instead of traditional bits, which allows for faster, more complex computations. This ability has the potential to revolutionize industries from finance to pharmaceuticals, and countries around the world are vying for supremacy in this field. In this article, we will explore the importance of winning the race for quantum computing and the implications for the global technological landscape.

The race for quantum computing is not just limited to the private sector, however. Governments around the world are also investing heavily in quantum research and development. In 2018, the US passed the National Quantum Initiative Act  (Daphne Leprince - February 9, 2019), which provides $1.2 billion over five years to support quantum research and development. China is also investing heavily in quantum technology, with the government aiming to build a $10 billion quantum research facility by 2024.

“The Promise of Data-Driven Decision Making - From Analytics to Visualization and Beyond” (new audio & ebook)

Colleagues, “The Promise of Data-Driven Decision Makingis a powerful resource that has the potential to transform the way we approach problem-solving in both our personal and professional lives. By collecting and analyzing data, we can gain valuable insights into the world around us, and use that knowledge to make more informed decisions. Throughout this book, we have explored the various aspects of data-based decision making, including the benefits, challenges, and best practices. We have also examined the different tools and techniques that can be used to collect and analyze data, as well as the ethical considerations that must be taken into account.

Highly data-driven firms are three times more likely to report a major improvement in decision making, according to a large decision survey conducted by PWC. However, only one in three CEOs claim that their company is heavily data-driven. It comes up frequently in meetings with corporate leaders that executives have instant access to large volumes of data. We also learn that their personal intuition or gut feeling plays a significant role in their decision-making. How might the art and science of decision-making be combined better? A more efficient use of data and the capacity to draw insights are seen to present potential for enterprises to generate higher value. Analytics may support an organization's growth and innovation, increase productivity, and improve risk management when they are integrated into the culture of decision-making within the company. The use of facts, metrics, and data to inform strategic business decisions that are in line with a company's goals, objectives, and activities is known as data-driven decision-making. Interactive dashboards, work management platforms, and OKR tools are examples of modern analytics tools that assist individuals overcome prejudice and make the best management decisions that are in line with business strategies. Instead of making decisions based on intuition, opinion, or personal experience, it compiles historical data to examine trends and make better decisions for the future in relation to what has previously worked.

“The Upskill Gambit - Discover the 5 Keys to Your Career and Income Security in the Digital Age” (new Amazon book (Audible) (Kindle)

Friends, if you want to discover the five keys to enduring career and earnings success then The Upskilling Gambit is for you (Audible) (Kindle). Join us for a journey that will transform your professional growth and unlock new opportunities for you and your organization. The global workforce - with an estimated 1 billion Knowledge Workers - has undergone a remarkable transformation from the Industrial Age to the Information Age and now entered the contemporary Digital Age. This transformation has been largely driven by technological advancements and economic cycles. In the Industrial Age the workforce was primarily characterized by manual labor, with individuals working in factories and other manufacturing facilities. Specialization and repetitive tasks were the norm, with limited opportunities for intellectual engagement or skill development. The Information Age also brought about a shift towards knowledge-based work, as industries began to rely on information processing and communication infrastructure. This led to the rise of white-collar jobs and a growing demand for skills in computing, data analysis and first generation robotics.

Thesis: A generational opportunity awaits all Knowledge Workers who focus on “Upskilling” their talents - across all industries, functional disciplines and geographic regions - in the new digital economy. Given the vast focus on job displacement due to technology innovation and business process improvement - in the near term - the upside growth potential in the medium-long term far outweighs the downside risk for all who invest in “Upskilling”.

Contents:

I - Introduction

II - Upskilling - The Big Picture

III - Skills Reign Supreme

IV - Career Myths vs. New Realities

V - The Newest Normal

VI - The Upskilling Paradigm

Python Data Structures (training)

Dev colleagues, join over 1 million students who have enrolled in the popular “Python Data Structures” training program. Learn to explain the principles of data structures & how they are used, create programs that are able to read and write data from files, store data as key/value pairs using Python dictionaries and accomplish multi-step tasks like sorting or looping using tuples. Gain high-demand skills including Python Syntax And Semantics, Data Structures, Tuples and Python Programming. This course will introduce the core data structures of the Python programming language. We will move past the basics of procedural programming and explore how we can use the Python built-in data structures such as lists, dictionaries, and tuples to perform increasingly complex data analysis. Training modules address: 1) Python Strings - install Python if you want to actually run the applications on your desktop or laptop. If you choose not to install Python, you can just skip to the third week and get a head start, 2)  Installing and Using Python - write and test Python programs in the browser using the "Python Code Playground" in this lesson, 3) Files - write your first programs that read, scan, and process real data, 3) Lists - store many values in a single variable using an indexing scheme to store, organize, and retrieve different values from within a single variable. We call these multi-valued variables "collections" or "data structures", 4) Dictionaries - the Python dictionary is one of its most powerful data structures. Instead of representing values in a linear list, dictionaries store data as key / value pairs. Using key / value pairs gives us a simple in-memory "database" in a single Python variable, and 5) Tuples - simple version of lists. We often use tuples in conjunction with dictionaries to accomplish multi-step tasks like sorting or looping through all of the data in a dictionary.
